Dita Von Teese...Recording Artist?
Photo from Dita's Official (?) MySpaceOnce again...THANKS TWITTER for this news. E! Online (follow them on Twitter @eonline) reported today that international Burlesque performer Dita Von Teese will be recording an album. Hot...potentially? I don't know. I look at her and think of The Puppini Sisters (whom I adore!), maybe putting out a 40s-style Jazz record. Maybe it's the whole 40s vibe Ms. Von

Does 'Takin' Back My Love' Have International Hit Potential?
Photos from Sarah Connor, Enrique Iglesias & Ciara's Official SitesWe're all under the assumption that record labels know what sells in different international markets. They must have analysts in their payroll that study the international music charts and radio play statistics. Sometimes the labels take calculated risks at releasing an album that does well in one country, into another country. It
Archuleta Gets Better Album Artwork in the UK
WTF Jive Records? W.T.F. The Coverlandia blog recently posted the official UK single artwork for his Billboard Top 2 hit "Crush" and I have to say, I'm rather baffled. The label's UK subsidiaries must be throwing considerable resources into marketing David Archuleta as a pop wunderkind...a point made abundantly clear when comparing Archuleta's new UK single artwork to his U.S. single artwork. The

Kim Sozzi - Feelin' Me
Promotional Poster Via Kim Sozzi's Official MySpace Page
I think I need to reconsider these Discogs email alerts. The last three I've received, alerting me to available music for sale, I have purchased. That includes 2 Enrique Iglesias singles and most recently...this...Kim Sozzi's 2001 CD Maxi for her hit dance single "Feelin' Me" which peaked on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play
Mandy Moore, Black Eyed Peas, Cher & Girls Aloud
Since I started Tweeting last week, I've become relatively obsessed with Twitter! Where else can you "follow" (AKA cyber stalk) Lily Allen, Ashton Kutcher and John Cleese? Insanity...and with BlackBerry it's even easier to Tweet. Anyway, Twitter is fast becoming my source for the latest in music news. For instance, I learned that advanced promos of the new Mandy Moore album (or single?) have been

Adele Announces Post Grammy US Tour
I'm still kicking my own ass about my lost chance to see Adele perform down the street from me at the Somerville Theater last month. Imagine my excitement when I found out via NME Magazine's Twitter feed that Adele was plotting a U.S. tour, I got excited. Alas, the closest she's coming to me is New York. Oh well...I'm sure I'll get the chance to see her in Boston again but I'm still a little
Kelly Clarkson Album Leaks & New Album Artwork
First things first, it looks like Kelly Clarkson's new (brilliant) album, All I Ever Wanted, leaked onto the Internet, courtesy of the Norwegian iTunes Store, as Rolling Stone reported earlier today. That's a shame. I hope it doesn't drastically impact sales. It might, given that it's not set to be released for a month. I wonder if the label will bump up the release date? Buy your copy! Pre-order

Tinted Windows - A Mish Mosh Of...
When I first saw this on Perez Hilton, I thought it was April Fools...but no. It was in Billboard too. James Iha (of the Smashing Pumpkins), Taylor Hanson (of Hanson), Adam Schelsinger (Fountains Of Wayne bassist) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick drummer) have joined
forces to create Tinted Windows...a new "super-group."
According to Billboard, the group has already recorded it's debut

David Archuleta - A Little Too Not Over Your (Remixes)
Another purchase on Masterbeat! Lord help me! I need a second job! There's a nice little remix package available for David's follow up single to "Crush," "A Little Too Not Over You." Remixes are by Jason Nevins, Tonal and a Mental Instruments Mix. They are all decent and very radio friendly. I think the Nevins' mixes take the cake, though.

New Purchases: Lesley Roy, Solange Knowles, Robyn, The Sounds & Andreas Johnson
I am clearly not very financially responsible. I recently bought a shitload of new music, despite there being smarter things for me to spend my money on right now. Oh well. Splurge a little. I've been buying more and more dance music lately. Rare CD promos as well as digital tracks. My two new favorite sources for dance remixes are Masterbeat and Discogs. Masterbeat is an iTunes-like site with a
Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You
I've been listening to Lily Allen's new album since it came out this past Tuesday. Well...truth be told, I've been listening to it since the album leaked a few weeks back but I bought it on Tuesday and it's really quite excellent. It's definitely a bit more electro than her last album Alright, Still but it still has plenty of lyrical bite. I'm really getting excited about seeing her live in a

Lily Allen, Joanna Pacitti, Kimberley Locke & Utada
Lily Allen: I was super excited to find out that Lily Allen was going on a US club tour this April. Tickets went on sale today for her Boston show at the soon-to-be-opening House of Blues. I saw her twice a couple years back when she last visited Boston. The first time she showed up at the now closed Axis (or was it Avalon?). She then returned a few months later and performed at the Roxy. Both

Yenn - So Good To Be Wrong
Ever since the UK-based 7Digital stopped selling Mp3s to US citizens (due to a international licensing issue) I still view the website as a resource. People often ask me how, as an American am I so up on all these "new" British artists and the answer of course is the Internet. I have a habit of checking out the 7Digital homepage every Sunday night/Monday to see if any new tracks have been
