Katie Melua Live at Club Passim - The Photos

As promised, here are some of the pictures from the intimate Katie Melua gig in Cambridge, MA this past Wednesday. Such a good show! Katie was brilliant, funny, and beautiful. So glad I got a chance to see her live. My only regret is that I wish I knew how to take better flash-less photos. I need to get a little stand for my digital camera or something.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi Cover Art Revealed

Official Cover art via Coverlandia

I don't know if I should be offended when I watch the new Lady Gaga video for "Paparazzi" or love it. I think I love it because I love EVERYTHING Gaga. She looks amazing. The almost 8 minute-long video has a bit too much of a storyline, but I guess that's what makes it different. Perez Hilton calls it epic and I'm inclined to agree. I'm on the Ebay-hunt for

Katie Melua's Amazing Live Performance at Club Passim

Photo by Andreas Terslaak via katiemelua.com

Just got back from an intimate and fabulous Katie Melua show at Club Passim in Cambridge, MA. Wow. Brilliant. Absolutely stunning. Melua is a master class, her voice seamlessly floats into its upper register and back down into her smokey lower range. I got some poor quality images sans flash, which I will post this weekend. All in all, a fabulous

It's (almost) official! I'm going to see Kylie Minogue on October 7th in Chicago! So excited! All that's left to do now is pay back my friend who bought the (almost $100) tickets, and get a flight to Chicago. Still...VERY exciting! Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 16th!

New Music: Jordin Sparks' Battlefield

Photo available at JordinSparks.comThe new Jordin Sparks single has leaked in full and it's AMAZING (Popjustice thinks so too!). I love it! The track was written by Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic) who has written & produced songs for the likes of Leona Lewis ("Bleeding Love"), Hilary Duff, Jennifer Hudson, Shayne Ward, Natasha Bedingfield and countless others.I agree with The Prophet, who compares

Kaci Battaglia Channels Britney, Christina & Rihanna on New Single

Kaci Battaglia isn't a name you should recognize, but hopefully it will be one you'll recognize in the not too distant future. Formerly known by her first name only, 21 year-old Kaci Battaglia has been singing since she was young. Signed to Curb Records at a young age, she went on to release a few pop/dance singles. Her second single was the one I remember, a cover of "I Think I Love You," with a

Video Premiere: Freemasons feat. Sophie Ellis Bextor

Looks like the Freemasons new video with Sophie Ellis-Bextor leaked last week. I'm thrilled! I love Sophie and I love the Freemasons. This video is magic! Sophie looks (and sounds) fantastic as always and the beats are bumpin' on this jam. I can't wait to hear the remixes. It's released on June 22nd in the UK. Pre-order yours here. Check out the video, here.

New Music: Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester

Cover Art via CoverlandiaWhile I'm not a die hard Cobra Starship fan, I do enjoy the singles I've heard and what I've heard of their last album. Plus, lead singer Gabe Saporta is very hot. I remember first hearing about the band when the movie and title song, "Snakes on A Plane" was released. I loved both the song and the video.Photo by Lauren Dukoff via MySpaceThis new single, "Good Girls Go Bad

Britney Spears: On Your "Radar"

Album Artwork Courtesy of CoverlandiaWhen I heard the news that the new Britney Spears single (her fourth from Circus) would be "Radar," a track originally due to be released as the final single from Blackout, I was disappointed. Now that I've had time to sit back and think about it a little more, I'm not as disappointed. Sure, Circus has many single-worthy tracks, but honestly, so did Blackout.

Amy Studt Parts Ways with 19 Recordings

Photo by Andy Fallon (via MySpace)I was sad to read that Amy Studt, a favorite British pop star of mine since I first heard her second single "Misfit," (off her fabulous 2003 album False Smiles) has parted ways with her management and record label (19 Recordings) and will be venturing out into the world as a free entity. According to Amy on her MySpace blog: Photo by Andy Fallon (via MySpace)"It

Noisettes - A Little Bit of Everything

So one of the CDs I bought while in London a couple weeks ago was the new album from the Noisettes, a UK indie rock band. Why did I buy this CD? Honestly, I bought it because it was one of the new releases that was going to be out there while I was there. Also, I bought their previous album, What's The Time Mr Wolf? so I knew that I liked their sound.

The thing is, I never really listened to

Kylie Minogue Announces her first North American Tour!

BAH BAH BAH BAH!!! I was so excited when I was catching up on today's Tweets and read that Kylie is touring the States for the first time this Fall! While not a huge tour, it's still a 6 city North American Tour! Kylie is hitting Oakland, CA, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and New York and hitting in a big way, according to Perez Hilton on Twitter. @PerezHilton: Just got off the phone

New Katie Melua Album, Out Today in the U.S.

The new Katie Melua album, Pictures is out today in the States so make sure and pick it up if you haven't already! I'm not, only because I purchased the import back when it was released in the UK. It's an album that's grown on my considerably since I first listened. While I definitely prefer her first two albums, there's no denying Katie's talent here with this new album.Katie plays the second

Space Cowboy - Falling Down (feat. Chelsea Korka of The Paradiso Girls)

When I first heard this track on The Prophet, I knew I had to have it on my iPod. Produced by RedOne (Lady Gaga, Tami Chynn, New Kids On The Block, Sugababes), this new track from French producer/electro artiste Space Cowboy features vocals from Chelsea Korka, most recently of The Paradiso Girls (formerly of CW Reality Show "The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search For The Next Doll").This track is

Natasha Bedingfield Collaborating with Wyclef Jean & Sam Sparro

While it seems like I saw Natasha Bedingfield in concert at Paradise Rock Club just yesterday, it was actually sometime last year (what an awesome show - The Veronicas opened!).She's hard at work on her new album in the U.S. According to a recent email update, Natasha has been in the studio with "musical genius" Wyclef Jean and Sam Sparro, whom she says she's going to make a "cool collaboration"

Welcome Back - Holly Valance

Thanks to my new number one resource, The Prophet, I learned that actress/singer Holly Valance, is working on new music! The last music we heard from Holly was the 2003 chart dud, State of Mind, and the single of the same name. I bought that album at the Virgin Megastore on Michigan Avenue in Chicago and have to admit, never really listened to it. I think at the time I wasn't too much into

New Video - Polly Scattergood, Please Don't Touch

Polly Scattergood releases her new single, "Please Don't Touch" this Monday (May 4th). The video for the single is also out now (you can check it out here). As you know, I bought Polly's debut album when I was in UK a couple of weeks ago and I love it! She's quirky and talented. Her album comes out in the U.S. on May 19th, so look for it in shops then.

VV Brown Remixes & My Latest Ebay Music Buying Binge

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better. I mentioned earlier this week that VV Brown was releasing "Shark In The Water" as her next single, which is an awesome track with a super sleek video. Now I learn that there's an impressive remix package being promoted by the label? Sweet! I'm definitely on the prowl for these! The promo boasts remixes by Wendel Kos, Louis La Roche, Crazy P and

F**k You Lily, F**k You Very Much

I was excited to hear that Lily Allen was releasing "Fuck You" as her next single. It's been one of my favorites since before the album came out...since she posted it on her MySpace page. It appears to have been a digital single as the only things out now on CD are promos. There's a dirty and a clean version out now in most countries via iTunes. Check it out!

I also wanted to talk about how

New Artist to Watch - Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith is one of another crop of British singers that I'm newly obsessed with. I first heard Paloma when Popjustice did a little feature about her in April. Her debut single on Epic Records is called "Stone Cold Sober" and it's out in the UK on June 15th. I think Faith's voice sounds similar to Duffy's except with a bit more bite. She's a former Burlesque performer and magician's assistant
