Yes, this is old news. We all knew that Lilith Fair would be making it's triumphant return in 2010 after a nearly 11 year hiatus but today a new website launched revealing the first batch of tour stops. While details are still emerging (expected talent, tour dates, etc.), the festival is clearly moving forward in a big way.According to Nettwerk Music Group CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry

Foo Fighters Release Greatest Hits Album November 3rd!

Back at college in Indiana I went to my first rock concert and it was amazing. The Foo Fighters opening up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Foo Fighters were in the middle of promoting their 1999 album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, and I was all over it. "Learn To Fly" was one of my favorite songs of 1999. Since college I have morphed more into a pop music fan, gradually moving away from the

Adam Lambert Album Cover Revealed!

Here is the recently released album artwork for the upcoming debut album from Idol Season 8 Runner Up, Adam Lambert. Wow. It's all very 80s/90s Pat Benatar or David Bowie and I kind of love it. It's totally photoshopped to the max but in a good way. For Your Entertainment drops on November 23rd via 19 Recordings/RCA Records and features a series of high-profile collaborations (both production &

Massive Album Artwork Update - Part I

I know that some might view a blog post full of album art as a cop out. Trust me...these album artwork updates aren't cop outs. Those who say that have never tried formatting a blog post in Blogger. It's suck a process! Blogger can be so finicky sometimes. It drives me INSANE. I actually spend longer on these Album Artwork posts than I do writing some of my other posts. Anyway, lots of new

Katy Perry 'Unplugs' For MTV

When I first heard that Katy Perry was releasing an MTV Unplugged album, I have to admit...I was a shocked. It's not that I don't think Katy Perry is untalented...it's just that Katy Perry has ONE album under her belt...well one MAJOR STUDIO album anyway. Previous 'Unplugged' sets have been released by the likes of Tony Bennett, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton, whose

Norah Jones is "Chasing Pirates" with New Single

I've said it before and I'll say it again...Norah Jones bores me. True as this may be, I continue to buy her albums because every so often I find myself in the mood for the calming, soothing qualities of her impeccably perfect voice. I like my jazz music like I like my house music...with a nice vocal and Norah Jones satisfies me every time. Why then does she bore me? Good question! I don't really

Londoner Jamie T released his sophomore album Kings & Queens in America on October 6th. One part indie rock, one part hip hop, whatever genre you use to define this 23 year old Brit, Jamie T is pure brilliance. His first album, Panic Prevention managed to peak at #4 on the UK charts (not too shabby), followed by a prestigious Mercury Music Prize nomination at the 2007 NME Awards, where Jamie T

New Music Purchases

While in Chicago this weekend I stopped at my local Best Buy and picked up a few essentials. On the music front, I opted for the brand new Blake Lewis album, Heartbreak On Vinyl as well as the new Madonna 2-disc compilation, Celebration. I am wishing I had purchased the recent Kylie remix compilation, Boombox, but perhaps next time. The Madonna disc was $22.00! Yikes! Blake Lewis was on sale for

R.I.P. Stephen Gately (17th March 1976 - 10th October 2009)

Boyzone member Stephen Gately (33) was found dead yesterday in Marjorca, where he was on holiday with his husband Andrew Cowles. This is so sad and tragic. Details appear to still be coming to light, but his band mates are planning to fly to Marjorca. Everyone is in shock over this. Band-founder/manager and X-Factor judge Louis Walsh told the News of the World "We're all absolutely devastated."

Kylie Minogue Puts On A Good Show

Coming back from Chicago yesterday evening, I still find myself humming Kylie Minogue songs everywhere I go. Seeing her live on Wednesday October 7th was QUITE an experience. Total S-P-E-C-T-A-C-L-E! Wow. Before I get into the good, let's first discuss the bad bits...

Having recently announced a change of venue, I didn't know what to expect. The reason for the venue change was that the

Off to Chicago....Kylie here I come!

This is going to be my last blog for a little while. I'm headed home to Chicago again...and will be there with limited access to Internet between October 6th and October 9th. Not that long of a trip, I know but I've started blogging again after QUITE a long break. I'll be seeing Kylie Minogue live at the UIC Pavillion (moved from the Congress Theater because of the bigger-than-life production).

Album Artwork Update

Since I need to go to bed soon, I'm just doing to post a bunch of official artwork from some of my favorite artists without any exposition. While I'd love to do a little write up on each piece...I just don't have the time. (If any of this isn't official, please leave me a comment). The majority of the artwork came from Coverlandia and Covermania - while still others came from official artist and

Joss Stone Clears Up The Cover Art

I'm a multi-tasker...and by multi-tasker I mean I can blog AND listen to my TV at the same time. Pretty freakin' sweet, eh? Anyway, I was listening to a TIVOed episode of Chelsea Lately with special guest Joss Stone. Joss was really cute - in fact, the first thing she did was clarify the situation with her album artwork. Apparently, the purple picture-less artwork is being released as the

That's What Credit Cards Are For...

On a whim, I decided to buy four CDs on CDWow.com the other day four? Well...because I'm easily enticed by a good deal. CDWow was offering three CDs for $22.00. How could I say no? The fourth CD was something I had intended on purchasing anyway.Calvin Harris - Ready For The Weekend - I've been loving this CD for months so I finally decided to suck it up and purchase it. I can't wait. Love
