Hot Remix: Jennifer Lopez - Louboutins (Jeremy Word Remix)
Better late than ever, I suppose. I have a HOT remix for you, which many of you have probably found other places. It's Dallas-based DJ/Remixer Jeremy Word's take on the new Jennifer Lopez single, "Louboutins." I'm LOVING this remix right now. I've been a fan of Jeremy Word's bootleg stuff for a good long while now (check out his mixes of Flo-Rida's "In The Ayer" & Janet Jackson's "Feedback").

In My Stocking...
Let the post holiday spending begin! Last week I got myself a pair of the BOSE ear buds. So far so good. The sound quality is excellent and they are very comfortable. I think they are quieter than my iPod ear buds which is also a plus. I don't want anyone to tell me to turn my music down AND there's nothing I dislike more than hearing someone elses music on the train or bus.In addition, I did
My Mother...
Sorry for the major delay in posting of late. I've had a lot going on over the past couple of weeks. My mother passed away on Thursday December 17th after a 5 year battle with ALS/Lou Gehrig's Disease. While we all knew that ALS is incurable, this end was not something any of us liked thinking about, nor did knowing make the reality any easier to digest. I consider myself so very fortunate to

Ke$ha Unleashes Her Inner 'Animal'
One artist I'm ABSOLUTELY obsessed with right now is Ke$ha. When I obsessed, I mean NEED NEW MUSIC NOW. This why I'm scouring YouTube looking for new song clips. I've already fallen in love with her hit single, "Tik Tok," as well has her rumored follow-up single, "Blah, Blah, Blah," featuring 3OH!3. Now I've just heard a clip of "Dinosaur," and OMG. I can hardly contain myself. She kind of

Hot New Release: Ryan Ferrada - Room 501
I first heard of Ryan Ferrada back in September, when I talked about his upcoming release Room 501. The Bimbo Jones remix of his first single, the club-friendly "Dirty In The Club" hit the top 10 in the Music Week UK Club Chart last month and even hit #2 on the Pop Chart. Impressive! Well, the album has FINALLY been released to the UK iTunes store. I wish I could get it here in the states. The
Lilith Fair Lineup Announced - Round #1
Last week part of the lineup for Lilith 2010 was announced. Wow. POWERHOUSE! One of the things that I love about Lilith Fair, aside from it's knack for showcasing strong, talented females in the music industry, is how much variety the line up has to offer. Nearly every genre of music is represented here and this is only the first round of artists! Included in the group we have Sarah McLachlan

Billboard Reveals Top One Hit Wonders of the Decade
When I discovered that Billboard.com was featuring 39 "One-Hit Wonders" of the last decade, I knew this it was going to be a good day. And it was! It was like taking a musical journey back through college and I loved every minute of it.Billboard counts these artists as one hit wonders based on their charting history on Billboard's Hot 100 list. "After reaching the Hot 100's Top 10 with their
Katharine McPhee Remains 'Unbroken'
I'm just going to go out on a limb and say it - Unbroken is the CD that Katharine McPhee should have made from the start. Her misguided, post-idol debut was one big cliche-ridden poptastic mess. While it wasn't without the occasional gem (i.e. - "Love Story") for the most part, it just didn't seem genuine. From the looks of it, her follow up, due out on Verve January 5th, will be everything

DJ/Producer David Guetta Racks Up 5 Grammy Nominations
Major congratulations go out to superstar French DJ/Producer David Guetta, who received five Grammy Nominations this year. Very impressive! As if the honor of actually receiving five nods wasn't enough, Guetta had the pleasure of playing during the live nominations telecast in Los Angeles. This is Guetta's first time being nominated so to pick up five in one go is nothing to shake a fist

Dionne Bromfield Releases a Motown Classic as Single #2
The super-talented 13-year old Dionne Bromfield is gearing up to release her second single in the UK, a cover of the Motown Classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," off of her debut album Introducing Dionne Bromfield. Bromfield, who happens to be Amy Winehouse's god daughter is very much following in the musical footsteps of her godmother, garnering many vocal comparisons. Her album is made up
Hot Music News & Snippets: Adam Lambert, Gabriella Cilmi, Grammy Nominations & More
In the wake of negative press that Adam Lambert's controversial American Music Awards Performance left behind, the talented young singer is now just focusing on the music. Lambert sang his heart out on The Ellen DeGeneres Show (airing December 1st), singing a powerful rendition of the album track, "Whataya Want From Me," which was co-written by singer and P!nkMax Martin. Perfection. This is
Hot New Band: Versant
Besides "Le Disko," and "Rainy Monday," I haven't really heard anything by the LA-based electro-rock outfit known as Shiny Toy Guns. Of course I first heard "Le Disko" as it was remixed by the likes of Tommie Sunshine & Boys Noize. Unfortunately for me, I became a fan too late in the game. Before I knew it, lead vocalist Carah Faye Charnow was gone, replaced with the "rock" chick the CW
Blake Lewis to Release "Heartbreak On Vinyl" as Second Single
Blake Lewis has always been one of my favorite male American Idol alums. He might not be as strong vocally as Clay Aiken or Adam Lambert but he has what a lot of the other Idols don't - uniqueness. I think that many of the other Idol cast offs were so easily pigeonholed into one specific genre of music because they lacked a unique style. They were able to sing the particular genre of music
Jennifer Lopez is Throwin' On Her "Louboutins"
Promotion seems to be underway on Jennifer Lopez's new album and I couldn't be more excited. I haven't really enjoyed a Jennifer Lopez album since the J To The L-O remix album came out back in 2002. Sure, there has been the occasional song since then (i.e. - "I'm Glad," "Get Right," "Cherry Pie," "Do It Well") but for the most part, none of her tunes have really jived with me.

Corinne Bailey Rae Is Back!

Following the release of her debut self-titled album, Bailey Rae went straight to #1 one on the UK Album Chart as well as the top of the UK R&B Albums Chart.. The album did amazing well overseas as well,

Leona Lewis Plays It Safe (Yet Sleek) with Echo
When Leona Lewis first appeared on TV in 2006, auditioning for Series 3 of The X-Factor with her rendition of "Over The Rainbow," she probably had little idea of how much her life was about to change. After her run on The X-Factor ended with a win, Lewis went on to hit the top of the charts in the UK with her first single, a cover of Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This." Well, one #1 lead to

Hot Talent Alert: Erik Hassle
I think that Sweden is secretly stockpiling musical talent. The first bit of Swedish talent I've ever come into audible contact with is Robyn. I've followed her over the years and am happy to see how she's progressed as an artist and as a business woman. Forming her own label after parting ways with one of the majors, she's been able to sustain both a successful career and a sense of

The Return of 2 Euro Dance Divas: New Music from In-Grid & Sonique
I would have never thought that an accordion could sound sexy, but Italian-born/French-singing dance artist Ingrid Emiliana Alberini makes it work every time. There's just something SO appealing about the cheesy euro-pop sounds that In-Grid brings to each and every song. Whether it's a dance-rework of a French classic ("Milord") or a more contemporary dance masterpiece ("Tu Es Foutu"/"You

The Fame Monster Is Coming!
By this time tomorrow, I hope to have tickets for Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour in New York City. Tickets go on pre-sale tomorrow, so who knows if I'm going to look but I'm hoping and praying that my friend can be a total rock star and hook me up.Pre-tour, of course, is the release of Gaga's The Fame Monster, which essentially is a brand new album. 8 brand new tracks accompany Gaga's

Album Review: Glee - The Music, Volume 1
I knew back when the pilot episode aired that Glee was going to be one of my favorite shows. It has everything a TV/music lover like me needs - Top 40 Songs, a good looking cast, Jane Lynch and pounds and pounds of cheese. Glee is PURE PERFECTION in my mind.

JoJo Promises "2010 Is Going To Be My Best Yet!"
Outspoken young R&B singer/actress JoJo is just one of a slew of artists who have taken to social media outlets to express a dislike for record label politics. JoJo is clearly frustrated with her label, surrounding the upcoming release of her third album. The singer announced via Twitter a while back that she left Blackground, the label that handled her first two albums, and moved things over to
Album Review: Say Anything - Self Titled
I've said before that I used to be into the whole alternative music scene, but less and less so in recent years. Back when I used to have regular access to a car I'd listen to Chicago's Alternative Radio Station - Q101. There was just something about alternative rock that made getting from point A to point B a more enjoyable experience. As I grew older my tastes changed and now I find myself
Róisín Murphy is "Orally Fixated"
Irish singer/songwriter Róisín Murphy has always been one of my favorite artists to come out of Europe. I loved her debut album, Ruby Blue (produced by the brilliant Matthew Herbert) as well as her more dance-poppy follow up, Overpowered. When Murphy made an appearance in New York City last year, I was hoping it was the start of a career in the States but that was never to be. Lucky for me there
Adam Lambert Has A Sure Fire Hit On His Hands
Adam Lambert did it. His new single is everything I wanted and more from the Season 8 American Idol runner up. No, I'm not talking about his 2012 contribution, "Time For Miracles," (which isn't all that bad) I'm referring to his potential SMASH single and the album's title track, "For Your Entertainment." This song is HOT! Wow. Way to go Claude Kelly & Dr. Luke!

La Roux Coming Back Strong This Winter
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think La Roux is an amazing new band. They've been called underrated before and frankly, I don't get it. Lead vocalist Elly Jackson, at 21 has proven to be quite the bright and shiny new talent, with U.S. music publication Rolling Stone calling her "the perfect London pop star of the moment." I couldn't agree more. La Roux reiterates everything that I
Hot New Talent Alert! Jimmie Allen
Nashville-based artist Jimmie Allen is most certainly someone you will be hearing from in the future. His first single "Comet" recently hit radio and already has people asking "who is this guy and where can I hear more?"
Allen first caught the attention of well known & respected EMI executive Kim Stevens (Matchbox 20, Collective Soul) who has put everything behind this future star, becoming
New Morgan Page Album Due Out February 2010
I'm really happy for Morgan Page. I've been a fan of his remixes ever since I downloaded his self-released remix disc, Cease & Desist back in 2005. That AMAZING album contained one of my favorite Morgan Page remixes of all time - his mix of Tegan & Sara's "Walking With A Ghost." Now, Page is gearing up to release his new album, Believe, in February 2010.The album's first single, "Fight For You"
Röyksopp Returns For First Stateside Appearence in 4 Years
RÖYKSOPP is coming! RÖYKSOPP is coming! The Norwegian electro-duo (Svein Berge & Torbjørn Brundtland) will be performing 4 dates in the States this month, the group's first U.S. tour in over 4 years! Admittedly, I hadn't really gotten into Röyksopp until this past year when their 4th album Junior, their 4th album was released. Prior to Junior, I had heard Röyksopp remixes for fellow Norwegian

Lilith Fair 2010 Is Coming!
Yes, this is old news. While details are still emerging (expected talent, tour dates, etc.), the festival is clearly moving forward in a big way.According to Nettwerk Music Group CEO and Lilith Fair co-founder Terry
Foo Fighters Release Greatest Hits Album November 3rd!
Back at college in Indiana I went to my first rock concert and it was amazing. The Foo Fighters opening up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Foo Fighters were in the middle of promoting their 1999 album, There Is Nothing Left To Lose, and I was all over it. "Learn To Fly" was one of my favorite songs of 1999. Since college I have morphed more into a pop music fan, gradually moving away from the
Adam Lambert Album Cover Revealed!
Here is the recently released album artwork for the upcoming debut album from Idol Season 8 Runner Up, Adam Lambert. Wow. It's all very 80s/90s Pat Benatar or David Bowie and I kind of love it. It's totally photoshopped to the max but in a good way. For Your Entertainment drops on November 23rd via 19 Recordings/RCA Records and features a series of high-profile collaborations (both production &

Massive Album Artwork Update - Part I
I know that some might view a blog post full of album art as a cop out. Trust me...these album artwork updates aren't cop outs. Those who say that have never tried formatting a blog post in Blogger. It's suck a process! Blogger can be so finicky sometimes. It drives me INSANE. I actually spend longer on these Album Artwork posts than I do writing some of my other posts. Anyway, lots of new

Katy Perry 'Unplugs' For MTV
When I first heard that Katy Perry was releasing an MTV Unplugged album, I have to admit...I was a shocked. It's not that I don't think Katy Perry is untalented...it's just that Katy Perry has ONE album under her belt...well one MAJOR STUDIO album anyway. Previous 'Unplugged' sets have been released by the likes of Tony Bennett, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Bruce Springsteen and Eric Clapton, whose

Norah Jones is "Chasing Pirates" with New Single
I've said it before and I'll say it again...Norah Jones bores me. True as this may be, I continue to buy her albums because every so often I find myself in the mood for the calming, soothing qualities of her impeccably perfect voice. I like my jazz music like I like my house music...with a nice vocal and Norah Jones satisfies me every time. Why then does she bore me? Good question! I don't really

New Music Purchases
While in Chicago this weekend I stopped at my local Best Buy and picked up a few essentials. On the music front, I opted for the brand new Blake Lewis album, Heartbreak On Vinyl as well as the new Madonna 2-disc compilation, Celebration. I am wishing I had purchased the recent Kylie remix compilation, Boombox, but perhaps next time. The Madonna disc was $22.00! Yikes! Blake Lewis was on sale for
R.I.P. Stephen Gately (17th March 1976 - 10th October 2009)
Boyzone member Stephen Gately (33) was found dead yesterday in Marjorca, where he was on holiday with his husband Andrew Cowles. This is so sad and tragic. Details appear to still be coming to light, but his band mates are planning to fly to Marjorca. Everyone is in shock over this. Band-founder/manager and X-Factor judge Louis Walsh told the News of the World "We're all absolutely devastated."
Kylie Minogue Puts On A Good Show
Coming back from Chicago yesterday evening, I still find myself humming Kylie Minogue songs everywhere I go. Seeing her live on Wednesday October 7th was QUITE an experience. Total S-P-E-C-T-A-C-L-E! Wow. Before I get into the good, let's first discuss the bad bits...
Having recently announced a change of venue, I didn't know what to expect. The reason for the venue change was that the

Off to Chicago....Kylie here I come!
This is going to be my last blog for a little while. I'm headed home to Chicago again...and will be there with limited access to Internet between October 6th and October 9th. Not that long of a trip, I know but I've started blogging again after QUITE a long break. I'll be seeing Kylie Minogue live at the UIC Pavillion (moved from the Congress Theater because of the bigger-than-life production).

Album Artwork Update
Since I need to go to bed soon, I'm just doing to post a bunch of official artwork from some of my favorite artists without any exposition. While I'd love to do a little write up on each piece...I just don't have the time. (If any of this isn't official, please leave me a comment). The majority of the artwork came from Coverlandia and Covermania - while still others came from official artist and
Joss Stone Clears Up The Cover Art
I'm a multi-tasker...and by multi-tasker I mean I can blog AND listen to my TV at the same time. Pretty freakin' sweet, eh? Anyway, I was listening to a TIVOed episode of Chelsea Lately with special guest Joss Stone. Joss was really cute - in fact, the first thing she did was clarify the situation with her album artwork. Apparently, the purple picture-less artwork is being released as the

HOT NEW TALENT ALERT! Gary Go
Ever since I started blogging more frequently a few months back, I find myself inundated with requests from indie labels and PR firms trying to get me to mention their artists on my blog. As flattering as this all is, it's also VERY overwhelming. I have a stack of CDs that I'm still waiting to listen to as well as a ton of promotional material and press releases waiting to be sorted through and

Massive Album Art Update - Part 2
This is a huge album artwork. So huge in fact that I couldn't put in all of the labels that I normally would have - one for each artist. Oh well! A majority of these covers came from Coverlandia. Enjoy!"Make Me" is the new song from Janet Jackson and has been called a tribute to her brother Michael's single "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and will be part of her second compilation album, the
HOT SINGLE ALERT! Young Soul Rebels - I Got Soul (War Child Charity Single)
Where have I been? I just learned about this fantastic charity single out in the UK on October 19th. The video is one of those "behind-the-scenes" videos interspersed with clips of happy children dancing and singing. You can see the impressive roster of Island Records talent singing their parts and rehearsing in and around the recording studio. Included on this single: V.V. Brown, Bashy,
V.V. Brown Announces First U.S. Shows
I'm so excited about this! It looks like V.V. Brown's attempt at breaking America is already under way. YES! According to a press release, V.V. Brown will be playing 4 dates this October, starting out in New York City at Santo's Party House as part of the CMJ Showcase. Kylie Minogue - U.S. Tour Set List Announced
So so excited about seeing Kylie Minogue on Wednesday, October 7th. That's coming up so fast! I still don't really know what to expect as far as atmosphere, people, etc. I'll be going by myself which should be...interesting. Well...thanks to Perez Hilton, I now know what Ms. Minogue will be singing. The set list has been released exclusively to Perez. According to Perez, the set list isn't 100%

Sugababes Lose A Member - Heidi + Amelle + Jade Ewen - Keisha?
Imagine my shock and surprise when I returned from the gym to see THIS message on the Sugababes Official MySpace & website...Shocker! After much premature speculation that it would be newest member, Amelle Berrabah that was leaving - turns out - it will be none other than the last of the original lineup - Keisha Buchanan. SAD! While Heat World.com did in fact have it right that the newest member

Massive Album Art Update - Part 1
After my West Coast vacation, I've been M.I.A. (save for one album art update from Chicago). I apologize. I've been busy with work and personal stuff. The plan is to start regularly updating again so bear with me. I find album art updates to be the easiest way to break back into a blogging routine, so here goes nothing! - All artwork found on Coverlandia.Colour Me Free is the long anticipated 4th
HOT VIDEO ALERT! Alexandra Burke feat. Flo-Rida - Bad Boys
I am loving this new video from X-Factor winner Alexandra Burke. Sure...it's a little tacky in parts...but it's a lot of fun. More blogging to come. I know I've been away for quite some time.

Massive Album Artwork Update
OK...putting up a quick album artwork update while I have some computer access. Currently I'm in the Chicago burbs at my parents place...the tail end of a week long vacation that took me from Boston to Corvallis (Oregon) then to Portland and now, sweet home Chicago. I didn't really do TOO much shopping but while in Portland I stumbled upon a cute little indie music shop (Jackpot Records) and

Quick Blogging Break...
I'm going on vacation this Tuesday (September 1st) through September 8th so I will be taking a little break. I'll be back though, overwhelmed I'm sure with music news, album art and lots more. See you in a week!

Another Album Art Update
Another album art update! Do I need to apologize? I don't think so. I love this stuff so I'm just going to keep going. With the exception of the Preston artwork (from Covermania), everything comes from Coverlandia. 27 year old Samuel Dylan Murray Preston AKA Preston is HOT. Just check out this interview he recently did with Popjustice. Skinny, tattoos, funky haircut - what's not to love? Oh.
HOT SONG ALERT: Alexandra Burke feat. Flo-Rida - Bad Boys
I've been excited about hearing new Alexandra Burke music since after I heard her rendition of "Hallelujah." Wow. It has been well worth the wait, let me tell you that! I've only even heard a clip of the song and I'm already salivating at the thought of the full length release, music video, album/single artwork...this girl has super star potential written all over.
"Bad Boys" (out
HOT SONG ALERT: The Saturdays - Forever Is Over
Wow! UK girl group The Saturdays are working HARD to keep the momentum going over in the UK, releasing a new single AND album just months after releasing their final single off of Chasing Lights. The debut album from the girls offered 4 top 10 singles ("If This Is Love" - #8, "Up" - #5, "Issues" - #4, "Just Can't Get Enough" - #2)! Their lowest charting single, "Work" peaked at #22. Not bad at
HOT SOUNDTRACK ALERT: FAME
I TOTALLY forgot that the soundtrack for the FAME 2009 remake was released on Tuesday. OOPS! I have been loving the remixes for star, Naturi Naughton's version of the title track so chances are that I'm going to LOVE this soundtrack. You can get it on iTunes now or in stores. Oh...you can also get the full length club mixes and the radio edits on iTunes of "Fame." Check those out now! I love
Amy Studt Cancels Trip/Move to the USA & Stays in the UK
Boo. I'm a little bummed to hear that UK singer, Amy Studt, will be staying in the UK. Back in July Amy blogged about plans to move to New York, after a successful stay in the Big Apple this past year. Well...plans have seemingly changed. According to Amy's last blog on August 19th, she's staying across the pond for the time being. Photo by Andy Fallon via MySpaceStudt blogs about moving to a
To Rock or Not To Rock: Should I Go To the Perez Hilton Presents Tour 2009?
ARG. No money! Too many other expenses. As a self diagnosed "Fool_4_Music" I love going to see a live gig WHENEVER I can. Just saw the Noisettes, going to see Kylie Minogue in October, Ray LaMontagne and Girl Talk in November... My predicament is DO I GO and see the Perez Hilton Presents Tour 2009? I'm very tempted. Performing at the House of Blues in Boston on September 14th we have: Ladyhawke,
HOT SONG ALERT: The Fray - Heartless
I know I'm a bit late here...but this version of the song is so...pretty. I love it! I quite enjoy The Fray, and I quite enjoy the original Kanye West version. "Heartless" is quite the cover-worthy song apparently - Kris Allen did it on Idol as well (which I also loved).
Check out The Fray on the web:

Calvin Harris & The HUMANTHESIZER
I heart the new Calvin Harris single, "Ready For The Weekend." With guest vocals by the brilliant Mary Pearce, a cool video, sweet single artwork...how could the second single off of Calvin Harris's new album get any better? Enter the HUMANTHESIZER. Harris teamed up with Sony Music UK and Bare Conductive Body Ink to create this AWESOME live performance of the new single with the world's first

Album Artwork Update
AHHH. More album artwork. Yay! Ironically enough, I just removed all of the artwork from my iPod as I needed to free up some space. Most of the artwork from this update comes to us from Coverlandia. The Bublé artwork comes directly from the artist's website, while other artwork comes to me from Cover-Mania. Enjoy!Yummy. Michael Bublé's new album artwork has been unveiled and I love it. A nice pop
Missing Aaliyah
Aaliyah Dana Haughton1979 - 2001 Aaliyah Dana Haughton was as talented as she was beautiful and her tragic death at 22 in a plane crash is no less sad today than it was back on August 25th, 2001. When her self-titled album was released in July, I promptly snatched it up and played it over and over again. I listened to that album non-stop for quite sometime and even more so after her death. Massive Album Art Update!
BIG FAT album artwork right now. Some good...some questionable...oh and per usual, most of it is comes from Coverlandia.Oh Peter Andre. You're so God-damn cute! Following him on Twitter, I'm struck by how loving he is. He loves those kids of his and its just so damn precious. With all of the drama going on in his life right now I wish him all the best. That being said...the album cover l0oks very
Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart - August 20, 2009
Congrats to the new princess of dance...Kaci Battaglia (formerly known as Kaci). She moves up one spot into the top spot on the dance chart. She's had some club chart success in the UK but not a WHOLE lot here in the states. I was hoping she'd have a bit more mainstream success but I'll take what I can get. It appears that Sean Kingston has plateaued at # 3 and Simply Red moves down one spot to

Not Wild About Natalie Imbruglia's 'Wild About It'
I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm a bit disappointed to be honest. I think that this is just some promotional video to get us all excited about Natalie Imbruglia's upcoming new album and single "Want." To get us "wild about it" if you will. I'm much more excited for the single, based on clips that I've heard. This song is kind of...BLAH in my opinion. What do you all think? Excited for
HOT VIDEO ALERT - Dolly Rockers - Gold Digger
I know I've blogged about this before...but I don't care. I am in love with this jam all over again. I just bought a remix promo on Ebay. It includes the Bimbo Jones mixes, Superbass mixes as well as the radio edit. AWESOME. I'm thrilled.
HOT REMIX ALERT - Paloma Faith - New York (Cutmore Video Remix)
Remix of the brilliant Paloma Faith single, "New York." This is actually my favorite mix of the bunch...probably because it's more dance radio friendly. There are more vocals too, which I've said is key for me. I want to hear the actual song and melody. Tom Middleton's version isn't bad. Starsmith is alright as well, but not much different from the original. OH - BTW. I was in a bidding war
HOT REMIX ALERT - Wale Feat Lady Gaga - Chillin (Lee Dagger Remix Edit)
I am LOVING this remix right now. It's FIRE. Wideboys is my next favorite, followed by Bimbo Jones in last. Lee Dagger nailed this. Looking forward to seeing this promo hit the Ebay shelves.1. New V.V. Brown 'Game Over' Video!
As I mentioned in a previous post, the new V.V. Brown video has been announced and it's her song "Game Over." Well...the video has been released as well. I found it out over on Popjustice. I must agree with their blog headline...it is a rather unfortuneate title for a single. I happen to love the song and V.V. looks amazing in the video. Let me know what you think about the new single, her

HOT Talent Alert! Jay-J, Bradley Say & Christian Burns
While music usually speaks for itself, having a pretty instrument can't hurt. Here are three artists that I've just been introduced to, thanks to ArjanWrites and one of my new favorite blogs, EQ. These guys are as talented as they are attractive. Check them out below!
Jay-J - This Belgian-born electro-pop star got his start on a MTV Belgium reality show called "The Project," which was

V.V. Brown To Hit America January 2010 + New Single & Remixes
First bit of news...V.V. Brown has signed to Capitol Records (home to Lily Allen) in the U.S. and will release her debut album in January 2010! BRILLIANT! The press release goes on to say that Brown will make her way to the States in the new year. This is great news! I look forward to seeing her perform live.Now...onto the new V.V. Brown single, which is awesome news in and of itself. I've been
Róisín Murphy Defends Herself and Talks New Music
I've never been one to shy away from artists with similar vibes, which is why recent comments from Irish electro-pop artist (and former member of Moloko) Róisín Murphy, ceased to bother me. When I first read the reports that Róisín Murphy was going on the offensive, claiming that Lady Gaga stole her look...it all sounded to me like it was taken out of context. Claiming that Murphy said "Lady Gaga
Indie Artists You Should Know...Ace Noface
Lately, because of my blog, I've been fortunate enough to listen to new music from tons of independent artists. While my preferences generally lean more towards top 40 and dance/electronica music, this doesn't mean that I close myself off to all types of music. I plan on spotlighting 1 - 2 indie artists per week that either inspire me because of their music, or inspire me because of their story.
My Weekly Last FM Chart
In following with last weeks format, I'll be doing my top 10 listened to artists of the past week, according to my Last FM Chart. Since I work at a desk job, music is really what keeps me going day-to-day. Here are the artists that kept me going this past week. Most Listened To Artists:1. Noisettes2. Erika Jayne3. Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart - August 13, 2009
Not too much movement in the Top 10 this past week. Most artists moved either one or two spots up. The Paradiso Girls dropped from 3 to 10, as did the The Pussycat Dolls, but that was to be expected as they were in the #1 spot last week. Bubbling under the Top 10 are some exciting artists including La Roux (Bulletproof - #11), Jonas Brothers (Paranoid - #21), and the Noisettes (Don't Upset The

Musical Snippets - Annie, Britney Spears, Guy Sebastian, Lady Gaga & More!
Britney Spears - "Unusual You": Britney Spears...I'm over "Radar" and ready for a new single...and with that said, I'm hoping and praying this rumor is true. On The Prophet the other day I saw a report that "Unusual You" will be the fifth single off of Circus. The Bloodshy & Avant track has always been one of my favorites...in fact...I voted for it when Brit's website gave her fans the chance to
Aubrey O'Day - Party All The Time
For a while now, former Danity Kane member Aubrey O'Day has been talking about the electro pop sound she plans on bringing to her first solo record. Up until now, it's just been talk. Well, now we finally have something to sink our teeth into! Aubrey O'Day and producer Maestro (Lil Wayne, The Game, Ice Cube) have created a electro-pop masterpiece...or re-created I should say.

Album Review: Erika Jayne - Pretty Mess
Dance music is my thing. Whether it be a remix of a pop song or an original production...if it has that steady dance beat that gives me a certain swagger walkin' down the street - you know it's doing what it's supposed to. I'm by no means a club kid. In fact, I avoid the clubs like the plague. Don't get me wrong...I love dancing, but not in a club environment. This might be confusing to some,
New Album Art Wednesday!
You know me and album artwork by now. I'm obsessed with it. Need to have it. Here's a bunch of new stuff for you to scope out. Thanks mostly to Coverlandia. Much to my surprise, iTunes was selling remixes for the new Blake Lewis single "Sad Song" this Tuesday. Featuring remixes by Jason Nevins, Pilotpriest, and Craig C, this is a pretty hot collection. It also features new album art with Blake

Concert Review - Noisettes
So - as you know, I went to go see the Noisettes yesterday. I went alone and survived. It was a little awkward. I suppose that I could have made more of an attempt to mingle, but let's be honest...I was there for the music and it was a Monday night. I'm plenty social, but I at least need to know one person.
I arrived at Great Scott at a little after 9:00 PM with no opening act to be seen.

Impromptu Noisettes Concert!
I was reading the Metro on the way into work this morning...and what should I see? "Noisettes: Shiny Happy People." WHAT? Noisettes? In the Metro? Are they in town? Yes they are and they are playing at Allston Bar/Club Great Scott for $10.00! How awesome is that? I of course checked around to see if anyone wanted to go with me, but a Monday night out is a bit of a tough sell, so it looks like

My Weekly Last FM Chart
So, since I rarely listen to the same track more than...2 - 3 times on average. Sure...there are the occasional tracks that really grab a hold of me (i.e. - "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)," "Je Suis Une Dolly") but for the most part I like to change things up. With that being said, I'm going to just post my top listened to artists each week. Perhaps I'll do top listened to tracks once a
Music Video Update: Sugababes, Shakira, Gossip, Little Boots & More!
I've been really out of touch regarding my music videos lately, so here's a massive update.
Sugababes - Get Sexy: You've heard me raving about the single, now it's time for me to rave about the video. The girls all look hot and I love the set they are dancing around in. There's definitely some cool visuals going on here and while there's no story line per say, there's definitely plenty to

Musical Snippets - New Robbie Williams, Natasha Bedingield, Natalie Imbruglia & More!
Wow. Lots of little updates to go over spanning all genres of music. Let's see...where to start...Robbie Williams - Back With A New Album: Finally! The hottest hunk from the UK music scene is back with new material. The album, called Reality Killed The Video Star is out November 9th, preceded by the first single, "Bodies" which comes out on October 12th. It sounds like Robbie Williams is ditching
Album Review: Jordin Sparks - Battlefield
Congratulations Jordin Sparks. You made a second album that doesn't suck. I guess I should congratulate you on making it to album #2 without being dropped by your label, as is what sadly happens to so many American Idol alums. When I purchased Sparks' self-titled first album I was buying it because of her strong vocals, personality and lead single "Tattoo." Jordin's Idol single, "This Is My

Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart - August 6, 2009

New Album Art Tuesday!
While some might think that album art today as nothing more than iPod-sized squares, 100 pixels by 100 pixels each (which Hard-Fi alluded to with their last album artwork campaign) - for me, album (and single) sleeve artwork is one of the reasons why I still buy physical CDs. Here are some favorites that have come out over the past couple of weeks. Frankmusik - Complete Me (Out Now)While the

Fall Concerts! Going To Girl Talk & Thinking About Ray LaMontagne
I'm so excited! I just bought tickets (last night) to go see Girl Talk live at the House of Blues in Boston. The concert isn't until November 2nd, but MAN I can't wait for this show. I tried to get tickets last year when he played in Massachusetts, but they were sold out already. I paid $10.00 last year for the physical copy of his last album, Feed The Animals, but you can pay whatever you want
Chromeo's DJ-KiCKS Tracklisting
Hrm. So last week, I was all excited about the new DJ-KiCKS + Chromeo disc. When I saw that ArjanWrites had posted the full tracklisting to the new DJ-KiCKS album featuring the stylings of Chromeo, I got excited. Then I saw the tracklisting...and I was left somewhat disappointed. Honestly, the only reason I'm disappointed is because I don't know the majority of the artists on the album. The names
Billboard Dance/Club Play Chart - July 30, 2009
Here's Thursday's Hot Dance/Club Play Chart from Billboard. LA-based dance/electro-pop singer Erika Jayne takes the top spot this week, seeing PSB drop back down to #9. Lady Gaga's "LoveGame" also drops from #5 to #10. I'm BEYOND thrilled that the Paradiso Girls have hit the Top 5 (although I wish they'd hit the mainstream charts with just as much gusto). Not any other big moves in the Top Ten,

This and more coming at you over the course of the next week. Get excited! Until then...thank you and
New Album Artwork - Part II
Oops! My bad. I forgot to include a piece of artwork in my last album artwork update! It's for the new Backstreet Boys single, entitled "Straight Through My Heart." While not newsworthy enough for it's own post, combined with the release of Madonna's new single artwork for "Celebration", I thought I'd do another little album art update.via CoverlandiaThe new BSB single is surprisingly hot! DJ-KiCKS + Chromeo = AWESOME
Well this is exciting news! The new installment of the DJ-KiCKS series is coming soon and features the talents of none other than Chromeo! DJ-KiCKs + Chromeo = AWESOME. Carmen Reece - Right Here - Steamweaver Remixes
I was thrilled when Steamweaver sent me his latest batch of remixes for the Carmen Reece club-stunner, "Right Here." I loved his remixes of Beyoncé's "Sweet Dreams," so of course I was game to hear whatever he was working on next. Up until now, I hadn't really heard of Carmen Reece. I saw a couple of tracks appear on dance music compilations and on iTunes (including a nice mix from Dave Audé) but

New Album Artwork!
First things first...that Holly Valance artwork I blogged about last week? FAKE! I knew it was too good to be true. Holly took to her MySpace blog to address "comeback" rumors, saying "Why would anyone release something without promoting it and anyone hearing it first? It takes months of promotion and plugging to get radio onboard and people in the know about your music." She continues, "For

New Obsession...The Dolly Rockers - Gold Digger!
Photos via Flickr
I gotta admit, I wasn't sold on these girls when I first heard their first single "Je Suis Une Dolly," in fact it left no impression on me at all! I don't remember it! The name "Dolly Rockers" reminded me of one of those gimmicky pop groups like The Fast Food Rockers. Turns out, I judged too quickly. While their fashion sense could be classified as one part Ginger Spice,
New Straight No Chaser EP Out July 30, 2009!
Ahhhhh! So exciting. Back in October of last year I blogged about my favorite A Cappella group, SNC...otherwise known as Straight No Chaser. Being an Indiana University Alumn, I carry a certain sense of pride knowing that these guys walked the same campus that I did and knew some of the same people that I knew. Since being signed to Atlantic Records, the boys have released a Christmas album last

Queen of Pop Gearing Up To Release New Single & Hits Compilation
There's definitely going to be a Celebration on September 29th as Madonna releases her third Greatest Hits collaboration and final album with Warner Brothers Records (Madonna inked a new deal with Live Nation in 2007). The Dance Diva is Back! New Amber Single Out Now
German/Dutch dance diva Amber is back with a new single! Finally! I remember Amber from her big hit, "This Is Your Night" when it came out back in 1996/1997. I also remember "One More Night," and "Colour of Love" from that first album - back when Amber was signed to Tommy Boy Records. Her self-titled follow-up album, Naked featured singles "Love One Another," "Above The Clouds," and my
New Jordin Sparks Remix! - S.O.S. (Let The Music) Play"
I bought the new Jordin Sparks album, Battlefield yesterday and love it. Sure it's got a few more ballads than I might normally like ...but they aren't the soupy-sappy kinda ballad...nope! They're the slick-hooky kind of ballad...meaning filled with catchy hooks! With the writing/producing team she had with this album, it totally makes sense. The remix package for first single "Battlefield" was

Sugababes - Get Sexy Remixes
I wish I had more connections! I know DJs get special promotional CDs in the mail from the record labels and other such company's but MAN. I want in! I buy the promos on Ebay, but those can get quite expensive quite fast. I know a lot of blogs post the remixes for free download, but if I can buy them and they aren't $80.00...I'd rather do that. I guess I'm off to an OK start (part of that "
Fefe Dobson Song Chosen as Reality Show Theme
I was excited to read that Fefe Dobson's new single ("I Want You") has been chosen as the theme for a VH1 Reality Show. I've loved this girl since her first album came out...or a couple of months after it came out anyway. I don't quite remember which song first got me hooked on Fefe Dobson - perhaps it was her third single, "Everything," or perhaps it was her debut U.S. single "Take Me Away."
Amy Studt is Coming to America

She doesn't really share many details as to why she's coming out here, only saying that she wants to "to experience a new life for a bit." I wish her nothing but the best. The girl is a talented singer/
Dido Revisits Her "Electronic Roots" with Upcoming 4th Album
In a recent Q&A on her official page, British singer Dido reveals that her upcoming fourth album will see a return to her electronic roots. When asked why her last album, Safe Trip Home, was such a departure, sonically-speaking, from her previous two albums, Dido had this to say:"I intentionally didn't use any electronics on the 3rd album...We had a lot of fun creating sounds from all manner of
New Kim Sozzi Album - Out July 21st
So in an interesting turn of events...I was recently contacted about a really interesting blogging opportunity. I'll share some more details with you soon. I'm really excited! My blog is definitely picking up steam and now I'm really motivated. New Music Tuesday: VV Brown, Dan Black & More
And I wonder where all of my money goes...in addition to dropping just over $100 on that Girls Aloud Singles Boxed Set, I bought some full length albums as well this week. Here's the rundown...Regina Spektor - Far: I love, love LOVE this album. I really got hooked on Regina Spektor with her commercially successful single "Fidelity" (another thank you owed to "Grey's Anatomy") but I went back and
Album Review: VV Brown - Travelling Like The Light
Surprise, surprise. I adore the entire VV Brown album, Travelling Like The Light. I knew that I would. There are a couple of strong contenders for follow up singles to "Shark In The Water," but before I get into that I wanted to discuss one of my pleasant surprises...and that is the STRONG retro-influence on the album!
When I first saw photos of VV Brown, I loved the whole vintage/retro

Fans Vote for the Next Britney Spears Single
When I saw The Prophet Tweet a teaser about a new Britney Spears single - I got excited. Unfortuneately, Britney's label hasn't announced a new single from Circus just yet. Instead, they are trying to get fans to vote for the next single. The choices? Well...we have:Out From UnderKill The LightsShattered GlassUnusual YouBlurMmm PapiMannequinLace and LeatherMy BabyTrouble (Bonus Track)Amnesia
Lily Allen - 22 Video Premiere
And the 4th Lily Allen single off of her second album is..."22!" Not an obvious choice for a single if you ask me, but it's a good song. The video isn't the most up-lifting video, especially coming after the hilarious video for "F**k You." I guess I don't know what I was expecting...the song after all, is fairly melancholy. At this point, I'll take all the Lily Allen I can get!

My Weekly Last FM Chart
Second week doing this LAST FM chart report thing. Here goes nothing. By the way, it's nearly 6 AM. Why am I up? My sleep schedule is all out of whack this week...I fell asleep around 10:00 and woke up after midnight so I've been watching "Deadwood," and a really bad Nick Cage film. Anyway...here's the music chart for this past week. Check out last week's chart HERE.Most Listened To Artists:1.

Sally Shapiro - Love In July
I just saw the new Sally Shapiro video for her single "Love In July," out on July 17th. What a cute video. Generally, I'm irritated when a video for a song is released without an appearance by the singer...but in Swedish singer Sally Shapiro's case, I'll make an exception.
Shapiro has shied away from publicity since she first gained popularity in 2006-2007. In fact, the name Sally

Jib Kidder - Windowdipper
I love shows like American Idol and So You Think You Dance because they constantly are turning me on to new music, and new artists. Last night on the results show, one of the contestants at the bottom (Ade) had to "dance for his life" and he did this fabulous contemporary/hip-hop routine, choreographed to this WACKY-fun song by Jib Kidder.
Now, I've never heard of Jib Kidder before but WHOA
Calvin Harris Album Artwork Revealed
Album Artwork Via CoverlandiaLove, Love, Love Calvin Harris. Ready For The Weekend, the new album from the Scottish DJ, is due out in August. Debut single "I'm Not Alone" hit # 1 on the UK Singles Charts and stayed there for 2 consecutive weeks. Nice! The follow up single, "Ready For The Weekend" features vocals by UK singer Mary Pearce and is released in the UK on August 10th, with remixes
New Blake Lewis Album Drops in October
I adore Blake Lewis. Lewis was the beat-boxing cutie-pie who was runner-up to Season Six winner Jordin Sparks. While his debut album with Arista Records, Audio Daydream peaked at # 10 on the Billboard Charts, his singles failed to make much of an impact on the charts. "How Many Words" hit #8 on the Billboard Dance Charts with Remixes by DJ Dan and Dave Audé. His new album, Heartbreak On

ArjanWrites Touts VV Brown & Paloma Faith as 'new hot talent'
Last post of the night...just a few odds and ends. First off, I've always loved Arjan's blog ArjanWrites. Recently he's been spot lighting a couple of my favorite UK acts, touting them as the next big things. This makes me happy! First up...VV BrownI can't believe I didn't hear about this, but apparently Arjan nominated VV for the MTV Logo ArjanWrites.com Award for an international artist
Girls Aloud - 20 Singles, 150 Tracks - Boxed Set
I did it. I bought my very own Girls Aloud Singles Boxed Set. SO EXCITED! The set includes all 20 top ten singles, 150 tracks total including b-sides, remixes, and previously unreleased tracks.I should mention, however...this purchase was not made lightly. I mentioned in a previous post how I was considering spending $70.00 on this set from Fascination Records. Well...low & behold...it wasn't
Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone Single Artwork
I'm actually kind of excited that the new Kelly Clarkson single is "Already Gone." Yes, it's a ballad, which normally I'm not super into. I'm all about a powerhouse set of pipes, but I'm generally looking for music to MOVE me...literally. That being said...I've got to be honest...hearing it every week on "So You Think You Can Dance" as one of the "goodbye" songs really has made all the

She Wolf Is Coming...Shakira Shakira!
First off...gotta say how THRILLED I am that the Wade Robson Jazz routine on "So You Think You Can Dance" was choreographed to "Ruby Blue" by Roisin Murphy. This is the third or fourth time SYTYCD has used a Roisin track and EVERY TIME they do, I can't stop smiling. She's got such a unique quality to her voice and the way the choreography and music always come together is just so haunting.Back to
Beyoncé - Sweet Dreams - Steamweaver Remixes
And just yesterday I was talking about how I DON'T post music for download on my blog. Well times...they are a changin'!I was pleasantly surprised to get an email today from Steamweaver, a New York-based remixer/producer (?), who wanted some feedback on his remixes for Beyoncé's "Sweet Dreams," the video for which recently premiered online. Musical Snippets - New Michelle Branch, VV Brown, Sugababes,Carrie Underwood & More
As I sit here after a long day of work, watching the Michael Jackson funeral coverage from this afternoon, I find myself inspired to blog. First off...in case you couldn't tell by now, there's no rhyme or reason to this blog or it's posts. I don't focus on type of music, I don't post music for download...it's purely and simply my stream of consciousness, likes and dislikes.Now...onto the music.

My Favorite Music Videos RIGHT NOW!
So, I'm not ashamed to admit it...the disposable income I do have goes to music AND the occasional music video, which I then put onto my iPod for some enjoyment on the T(rain). Here are some of my favorite music videos of the moment.
Pitbull - I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) - Dirty, slutty good fun. The song is a bit overplayed right now, but this is my late-discovery. This is my
Melinda Doolittle - It's Your Love Remixes
Oh the stresses of life! Once again, the delay between this post and my last is unforgivably long. I started bidding on Ebay for a "rare remix promo" of American Idol Season Six finalist, Melinda Doolittle. I typically jump at the excuse to purchase a rare promo on Ebay if there's a 1-click buy option. This time around, there wasn't that option, so I bid the minimum $10.00. Sure enough, I was

Beth Ditto Called Out for Being a Bad Role Model? - Blimey!
While perusing Perez, I found a disturbing post about this douchey gossip columnist from the UK named Alex Blimes. Blimes took the time today to blog about his distaste for Beth Ditto, her fashion icon status AND her band Gossip. Calling Ditto out for being a bad example to young women b/c of her weight, essentially saying that she's AS bad an example for being fat as a super skinny girl would

Album Deals In Place For 3 Idol Finalists
Bing, Bang, Boom. Just like that - Kris Allen, Adam Lambert & Allison Iraheta sign deals with 19 Recordings. How exciting. While Kris Allen was a given, Adam was virtually a given...Iraheta's label deal was a very pleasant surprise.
Sure, part of me worries that Adam and Allison signed on too quickly, I'm really hoping that the label gives them the freedom they need to branch out and put

Katie Melua Live at Club Passim - The Photos
As promised, here are some of the pictures from the intimate Katie Melua gig in Cambridge, MA this past Wednesday. Such a good show! Katie was brilliant, funny, and beautiful. So glad I got a chance to see her live. My only regret is that I wish I knew how to take better flash-less photos. I need to get a little stand for my digital camera or something.

Lady Gaga - Paparazzi Cover Art Revealed
Official Cover art via Coverlandia
I don't know if I should be offended when I watch the new Lady Gaga video for "Paparazzi" or love it. I think I love it because I love EVERYTHING Gaga. She looks amazing. The almost 8 minute-long video has a bit too much of a storyline, but I guess that's what makes it different. Perez Hilton calls it epic and I'm inclined to agree. I'm on the Ebay-hunt for

I'm Going to See Kylie in Chicago!
It's (almost) official! I'm going to see Kylie Minogue on October 7th in Chicago! So excited! All that's left to do now is pay back my friend who bought the (almost $100) tickets, and get a flight to Chicago. Still...VERY exciting! Tickets go on sale to the general public on May 16th!

Kaci Battaglia Channels Britney, Christina & Rihanna on New Single
Kaci Battaglia isn't a name you should recognize, but hopefully it will be one you'll recognize in the not too distant future. Formerly known by her first name only, 21 year-old Kaci Battaglia has been singing since she was young. Signed to Curb Records at a young age, she went on to release a few pop/dance singles. Her second single was the one I remember, a cover of "I Think I Love You," with a
Video Premiere: Freemasons feat. Sophie Ellis Bextor
Looks like the Freemasons new video with Sophie Ellis-Bextor leaked last week. I'm thrilled! I love Sophie and I love the Freemasons. This video is magic! New Music: Cobra Starship feat. Leighton Meester

Amy Studt Parts Ways with 19 Recordings
Photo by Andy Fallon (via MySpace)I was sad to read that Amy Studt, a favorite British pop star of mine since I first heard her second single "Misfit," (off her fabulous 2003 album False Smiles) has parted ways with her management and record label (19 Recordings) and will be venturing out into the world as a free entity. Noisettes - A Little Bit of Everything
So one of the CDs I bought while in London a couple weeks ago was the new album from the Noisettes, a UK indie rock band. Why did I buy this CD? Honestly, I bought it because it was one of the new releases that was going to be out there while I was there. Also, I bought their previous album, What's The Time Mr Wolf? so I knew that I liked their sound.
The thing is, I never really listened to

Welcome Back - Holly Valance
Thanks to my new number one resource, The Prophet, I learned that actress/singer Holly Valance, is working on new music! The last music we heard from Holly was the 2003 chart dud, State of Mind, and the single of the same name. VV Brown Remixes & My Latest Ebay Music Buying Binge

F**k You Lily, F**k You Very Much
I was excited to hear that Lily Allen was releasing "Fuck You" as her next single. It's been one of my favorites since before the album came out...since she posted it on her MySpace page. New Artist to Watch - Paloma Faith
Paloma Faith is one of another crop of British singers that I'm newly obsessed with. I first heard Paloma when Popjustice did a little feature about her in April. Her debut single on Epic Records is called "Stone Cold Sober" and it's out in the UK on June 15th. I think Faith's voice sounds similar to Duffy's except with a bit more bite. She's a former Burlesque performer and magician's assistant

Katie Melua Announces 15 City U.S. Tour
I've mentioned before that my music tastes vary pretty drastically. I count Britney Spears, Madonna, The Dixie Chicks and Ray LaMontagne among my favorite artists. New Stacie Orrico Music!
YES! This makes me excited. According to The Prophet, Stacie Orrico is back in the studio and recording a hot new song. Aside from a great voice, the girl's got STYLE. Too bad I'll be in the UK a couple weeks too late. Oh well. That's

Gabriella Cilmi made her US television debut last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. She sang her single "Sweet About Me" and sang it well. Her album, Lessons To Be Learned, was released last week in the US and can be purchased for $7.99 digitally. I'm hoping she comes back and does a small club tour or something. I can't believe she's only 17! Such a talent. *EDIT* Check out the performance

t.A.T.u. Breaks Up & Lena Goes Solo
Photo via Official U.S. Website
It's a sad day, pop music fans. It appears that Russian electro-pop girl group t.A.T.u. have broken up. According to their blog, they are still planning on releasing a third Russian-language video off of Happy Smiles and an English language video for their track "Beliy Plaschik" ("White Robe"). Additionally, they duo plans to release 2 special edition versions

Polly Scattergood is Scatter-GREAT
Essex-born singer/songwriter, Polly Scattergood released her debut self-titled album in the UK on March 9th and I'm really starting to get into it now, which is a good thing since it's coming out here in the States in May. In a world full of over-produced, overly-commercial pop music, Scattergood is a welcome breath of fresh air. Her sound is a cross between Sia, Tori Amos and Björk. Her
Annie Searches for Ánthonio
Norwegian electro-Goddess, Annie will release her new single, Ánthonio towards the end 0f April, via Richard X's new label. The track is today's Song Of The Day on Popjustice and a 51 second snippet is currently playing on Annie's MySpace page. From the sounds of it, the track is light, fluffy and perfect for Spring/Summer. Annie's light-as-air vocals glide seamlessly over the electro-beats. I'm

Lily Allen - Not Fair Video
The video for Lily Allen's brand new single, "Not Fair" has made it's way onto the internet. It's cute. I am diggin' the whole new country vibe that it's got goin' and Lily looks terrific. I'm looking forward to seeing her in April, assuming that her recent troubles don't keep her from traveling to the states. Fingers crossed! Check out the video for "Not Fair" here. - Via Popbytes

New Music Blogs!
These blogs aren't necessarily brand new, but they are new to me! I found them while perusing We Are Pop Slags, fast becoming one of my new favorite music blogs. Thanks to these new blog-finds, I've learned quite a few interesting pop music bits. Hears the rundown. Photos come from Artists' official websites/MySpace pagesThe Prophet - Hip Hop/R&B Blog: New Brandy Single - "Fall"New John Legend
New Album/Single Artwork - Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Mandy Moore
I love album art. I obsessively tag my music in iTunes (which is rough, since I have almost 35,000 songs) and even go as far as to make my own amateur artwork if I can't find it somewhere else (OCD?). Coverlandia, as I've mentioned before, is one of my favorite album art resource - both for official and amateur.Today, Coverlandia posted the single artwork for Lady Gaga's new single, "Lovegame"

The Ting Tings Rock Boston & Some Other Music News
Got back from the Ting Tings performance at the Paradise in Boston. Amazing show. Of course, it was too short but all in all a BLAST. They performed all 10 songs from their debut album We Started Nothing and did it well. Katie White has quite the set of pipes, and her partner in crime, the scrumptious Jules DeMartino was quite awesome on backing vocals, percussion and everything else he did. Good

Long Overdue Update! Kelly Clarkson, Britney Spears, Paradiso Girls & More!
I haven't really been inspired lately to do a post. Apologies. This past week saw the release of Kelly Clarkson's fabulous new album as well as the premiere of Britney's video for her controversial "If U Seek Amy," the third single from her Platinum selling album Circus. This next week promises to be a good week for music as well...at least for me! Mandy Moore announced via her official(?)

Amy Winehouse Update!
Photo Via Amy's Official MySpaceWhen I saw that Amy Winehouse had a new blog post up on MySpace, I was skeptical. "What sort of rehashed, remixed, redone album was she RE-RELEASING now? The past 10 blog posts have all been about Amy's label re-releasing a past album, combining 2 albums together and repackaging it, or about some award that Amy won this past year. Fine. Amy Winehouse is very

Dita Von Teese...Recording Artist?
Photo from Dita's Official (?) MySpaceOnce again...THANKS TWITTER for this news. E! Online (follow them on Twitter @eonline) reported today that international Burlesque performer Dita Von Teese will be recording an album. Hot...potentially? I don't know. I look at her and think of The Puppini Sisters (whom I adore!), maybe putting out a 40s-style Jazz record. Maybe it's the whole 40s vibe Ms. Von

Does 'Takin' Back My Love' Have International Hit Potential?
Photos from Sarah Connor, Enrique Iglesias & Ciara's Official SitesWe're all under the assumption that record labels know what sells in different international markets. They must have analysts in their payroll that study the international music charts and radio play statistics. Sometimes the labels take calculated risks at releasing an album that does well in one country, into another country. It
Archuleta Gets Better Album Artwork in the UK
WTF Jive Records? W.T.F. The Coverlandia blog recently posted the official UK single artwork for his Billboard Top 2 hit "Crush" and I have to say, I'm rather baffled. The label's UK subsidiaries must be throwing considerable resources into marketing David Archuleta as a pop wunderkind...a point made abundantly clear when comparing Archuleta's new UK single artwork to his U.S. single artwork. The

Kim Sozzi - Feelin' Me
Promotional Poster Via Kim Sozzi's Official MySpace Page
I think I need to reconsider these Discogs email alerts. The last three I've received, alerting me to available music for sale, I have purchased. That includes 2 Enrique Iglesias singles and most recently...this...Kim Sozzi's 2001 CD Maxi for her hit dance single "Feelin' Me" which peaked on the Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play
Mandy Moore, Black Eyed Peas, Cher & Girls Aloud
Since I started Tweeting last week, I've become relatively obsessed with Twitter! Where else can you "follow" (AKA cyber stalk) Lily Allen, Ashton Kutcher and John Cleese? Insanity...and with BlackBerry it's even easier to Tweet. Anyway, Twitter is fast becoming my source for the latest in music news. For instance, I learned that advanced promos of the new Mandy Moore album (or single?) have been

Adele Announces Post Grammy US Tour
I'm still kicking my own ass about my lost chance to see Adele perform down the street from me at the Somerville Theater last month. Imagine my excitement when I found out via NME Magazine's Twitter feed that Adele was plotting a U.S. tour, I got excited. Alas, the closest she's coming to me is New York. Oh well...I'm sure I'll get the chance to see her in Boston again but I'm still a little
Kelly Clarkson Album Leaks & New Album Artwork
First things first, it looks like Kelly Clarkson's new (brilliant) album, All I Ever Wanted, leaked onto the Internet, courtesy of the Norwegian iTunes Store, as Rolling Stone reported earlier today. That's a shame. I hope it doesn't drastically impact sales. It might, given that it's not set to be released for a month. I wonder if the label will bump up the release date? Buy your copy! Pre-order

Tinted Windows - A Mish Mosh Of...
When I first saw this on Perez Hilton, I thought it was April Fools...but no. It was in Billboard too. James Iha (of the Smashing Pumpkins), Taylor Hanson (of Hanson), Adam Schelsinger (Fountains Of Wayne bassist) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick drummer) have joined

David Archuleta - A Little Too Not Over Your (Remixes)
Another purchase on Masterbeat! Lord help me! I need a second job! There's a nice little remix package available for David's follow up single to "Crush," "A Little Too Not Over You." Remixes are by Jason Nevins, Tonal and a Mental Instruments Mix. They are all decent and very radio friendly. I think the Nevins' mixes take the cake, though.

New Purchases: Lesley Roy, Solange Knowles, Robyn, The Sounds & Andreas Johnson
I am clearly not very financially responsible. I recently bought a shitload of new music, despite there being smarter things for me to spend my money on right now. Oh well. Splurge a little. I've been buying more and more dance music lately. Rare CD promos as well as digital tracks. My two new favorite sources for dance remixes are Masterbeat and Discogs. Masterbeat is an iTunes-like site with a
Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You
I've been listening to Lily Allen's new album since it came out this past Tuesday. Well...truth be told, I've been listening to it since the album leaked a few weeks back but I bought it on Tuesday and it's really quite excellent. It's definitely a bit more electro than her last album Alright, Still but it still has plenty of lyrical bite. I'm really getting excited about seeing her live in a

Lily Allen, Joanna Pacitti, Kimberley Locke & Utada
Lily Allen: I was super excited to find out that Lily Allen was going on a US club tour this April. Tickets went on sale today for her Boston show at the soon-to-be-opening House of Blues. I saw her twice a couple years back when she last visited Boston. The first time she showed up at the now closed Axis (or was it Avalon?). She then returned a few months later and performed at the Roxy. Both

Yenn - So Good To Be Wrong
Ever since the UK-based 7Digital stopped selling Mp3s to US citizens (due to a international licensing issue) I still view the website as a resource. People often ask me how, as an American am I so up on all these "new" British artists and the answer of course is the Internet. I have a habit of checking out the 7Digital homepage every Sunday night/Monday to see if any new tracks have been

Amy Winehouse Headlining @ Coachella
Photo Via Amy's Official MySpace Page I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Amy Winehouse is a headlining act at this years Coachella music festival in April (April 17th - April 19th). This is good news! Apparently the lineup announcement was delayed while concert officials were negotiating with Amy's people some sort of a guarantee that she would appear. She's been vacationing in the

Howie Day: More randomness for you today. Now that I have a BlackBerry, my email is always accessible, assuming I'm above ground. I got an email from Howie Day's official list the other day, informing us that he has a new tour coming up to promote his forthcoming album Counting On Me, due out in the Spring. This new album will be

New Cyndi Lauper Remix Album in the Works
Woohoo! I'm excited! ArjanWrites has posted the tracklisting for a new remix album that Cyndi Lauper plans on releasing in February. According to Wikipedia, the album is called Floor Remixes and it comes out on February 18th, but I've learned not to trust Wikipedia as a reliable source all of the time. Anyway, here's the tracklisting:Girls Just Wanna Have Fun/Set Your Heart – Remix by Rich

Katharine McPhee Signs a New Record Deal, The Ting Tings Release a New Video, Yada Yada Yada
This post is a bit of a mosh/posh of music bits and bites, so forgive me. And away we go! I just read on Perez that American Idol Season 5 Runner Up, Katharine McPhee just signed a new record deal (RCA dropped her in early 2008)! I've always liked the girl and thought that it should have been her rather than Taylor Hicks - but then again, I always want the female contestants to win over the males

Taylor Swift Club Remixes?
Trust me. I was slightly perplexed when I heard about these as well. In preparation for Taylor's UK unveiling ("Love Story" is released in February, and her album Fearless a month later) there is an impressive remix package being serviced to DJs. Now a remix of a country tune isn't unheard of. It's happened before with crossover talent like Faith Hill and Shania Twain, & Jewel. It's even happened
New Music from Michelle Branch & Vanessa Carlton
I was excited to see that Michelle Branch had posted a clip of a new song on her official site. Looks like things are movin' along with her new solo album. I have to admit that I largely ignored her country efforts with pal Jessica Harp (as part of the duo, The Wreckers) and was none too enthused when I learned that she was continuing on the country path as a solo artist. Well, I was plesantly

The Ting Tings Announce U.S. Club Tour!
I was thrilled to learn the other day that one of my new favorite bands, The Ting Tings are coming back for a U.S. club tour and hitting up my favorite vomitlicious hot spot, the Paradise Rock Club. Woohoo! I will happily endure the rancid smell of vomit and sweat to see this fantastic band from the UK perform live. Tickets go on sale on Saturday for their U.S. dates. In addition to Boston, they

New Róisín Murphy Photos!
Róisín Murphy could be considered a style icon. Well...at least I consider her a style icon. Her last album's photo campaign featured Róisín in a series of bizare outfits, juxtaposed with a seemingly normal setting (i.e. - diner, park, etc.).I was pleased to see more...erm...interesting photos of her on the UK Daily Mail's website. The photos are by Michael Labica & Sandrine Dulermo and they

New Utada!
Imagine my surprise when I learned (via DJRicoMixshow) that Utada had a new single up on her record label's home page! Admittedly, my first musical run-in with Utada came just before she released her major label debut English album, Exodus back in 2004. The album fared poorly in the mainstream US music market, peaking at 160 on the Billboard Hot 200. She had more success on the dance charts,

New Kelly Clarkson Single Hits The Internet
Perez Hilton posted the song in full the other day. Listen here! I love, love, love it - despite how similar it is to "Since U Been Gone." It's available for download on the 16th reportedly. BTW...I'm without internet for a week so my posts will be few and far between for the next few days. Apologies!

"My Life Would Suck Without You" Clip Released on Amazon
Perez alerted us to the fact that Amazon.com posted a clip of Kelly Clarkson's new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You." I like it...so far anyway. It is VERY similar to "Since U Been Gone," which is both good and bad. Good in that I loved SUBG but bad in that it sounds sort of like a clone. Granted, I only heard a short clip and I already know I love it. I just was hoping for something a bit
Kelly Clarkson Album Cover Debuts
On her website, Kelly Clarkson debuted the cover art for her new album, evidently titled All I Ever Wanted, due out March 17th. It's definitely showing a lighter, more fun side of Kelly. Bright colors, fitted clothes. She looks good (albeit, a tinsy bit photoshopped). I love it. Can't wait for the new record! And major props to her label for keeping debut single "My Life Would Suck Without You"

New Toy - Blackberry Curve!
I gave myself a final birthday present today (one that I will have to pay for every month) and signed a new 2 year contract with Sprint. I decided to get a Blackberry Curve. Not that I need another way to check my email but now I can. I'm excited!Oh, I also got that Jennifer Hudson promo for "If This Isn't Love." I enjoy the StoneBridge remixes very much - I just wish more remixers came on board.
Annie Plans to Release Album With or Without a Label
Woohoo! Good news for fans of Norwegian pop singer Annie ("Chewing Gum," "Heartbeat,") who made her debut in 2004 with her album Anniemal. Her new album (originally called Don't Stop) is supposed to see the light of day after all. After recently parting ways with Island Records, whom she just barely signed with, she is now a free agent and plans to release her album (in some form) in the next

Amazon Purchases
I was lucky enough to receive an Amazon gift card for the holidays this year. Usually I would just buy DVDs and CDs but I decided to get Adobe Photoshop Elements. Now I know that Photoshop is better but Elements is all I really need (and it's cheaper!). Since I got my new computer, I lost the art program I used to use and it doesn't work with VISTA.Now I will be able to start making my own album
New Straight No Chaser Track!
So I got an update on Facebook from the Straight No Chaser official FB group. Anytime a favorite artist or group releases a new song, I can't help but get excited. While this release isn't for download (yet), it's exciting nonetheless! Photo via Straight No Chaser's Official MySpace Page/Credit: Andrew ZaehSNC is clearly trying to tie fans over until their next release which comes out later in

New Alesha Dixon Single and Remixes!
The saga of my spending money on promos continues. I got a little Hanukkah gelt/birthday money from my Dad so I decided to spend a tiny bit of it on a new promo from Alesha Dixon. Alesha Dixon, formerly of the group Mis-Teeq, whom I quite enjoyed when they were together. I have 3 of their albums...well...their two UK albums and then their US album (which was essentially a "best of" album).

New Kelly Clarkson Single Sleeve Artwork
I found this cover over on Coverlandia. They claim it's the official artwork for Clarkson's new single "My Life Would Suck Without You." If it is, it's pretty hot. Kelly's lookin' good and I love the dark red lipstick and the loli. Hmmm...sounds like she's back to her old pop self :) Happy New Year!
