V.V. Brown Teaches 'Children' A Lesson with New Single, Sophomore Album Due Next Year
One of my favorite artists to emerge over the last couple of years, V.V. Brown, recently dropped a new single and announced details from her forthcoming sophomore record, Lollipops & Politics. FINALLY! After hearing her for the first time in the summer of 2009, it's been a fast road to obsession for me. I've seen her live twice in Boston (once as the headlining

Hot Video Alert: The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over
I love me some Saturdays, so after "Notorious" failed to have the chart impact everyone was hoping for, it was on to single #2. While I thought that the first single had a NOTORIOUSLY catchy dance beat, the UK-music buying public didn't see it my way. While a #8 debut isn't bad (in fact, their debut single "If This Is Love" debuted at #8), it's a better chart position three or four

Having lived in Boston for over seven years, I'm all about promoting someone with local connections. More than that, I'm all about showcasing someone with talent and DJ Domonique absolutely has talent! Don't take my word for it, listen to and/or download this hot track below, courtesy of Domonique herself.

Hot Remix Alert: Eddie Amador and Kimberly Cole featuring Garza - Arrow Through My Heart
You may remember a post I did this past summer about an up and coming dance pop diva named Kimberly Cole. At the time Cole had JUST released her new single, "Arrow Through My Heart," with producer/DJ and remixer Eddie Amador and new artist Garza. The blazing hot club track, which just entered the Billboard Dance Charts as hot dance breakout was released on
Graffiti6 Dazzles on New EP, Tours with Ximena
Seeing English pop/rocktronica duo Graffiti6 live in Boston this summer was a dream come true, no doubt and while I enjoyed the entire set, one track in particular really stood out. That song, the title track off of their brand new EP just so happens to be Graffiti6's official first U.S. radio single. Amazing. The 7-track Free EP includes two renditions of the title track plus stripped

Ones to Watch in 2012: Lily Elise
As big a fan I am of Kelly Clarkson, Jordin Sparks, Leona Lewis and other winners, oftentimes the contestants that most captivate me aren't the winners, but rather those that don't even make it to the final round. Case in point...Lily Elise. A contestant on season 1 of The Voice, from the moment Elise stepped out on stage, this 20 year talent just emanated pop star appeal. When she opened
The Wanted Announce Debut U.S. Performance, Prepare for Release of Sophmore Album
America. Get ready for The Wanted! Admittedly I haven't been this into a boy band since *NSYNC last hit the charts with their 2002 hit single "Girlfriend" (with rapper Nelly - remember that song?). While there may have been a light sprinkling of appealing boy bands between 2002 and now, none have me quite as revved up as The Wanted. There's just something about these boys...especially

Natalia Kills is set to return to North America to continue promoting her debut album, Perfectionist this Fall with two sets of dates. Kicking things off October 30th in Boston, the U.S. leg of Kills' tour sees her joining forces with Swedish indie rock band The Sounds. The 9 city tour concludes on November 11th, before Kills moves up and over the border into Canada where she will embark on
Ones to Watch in 2012: Lana Del Rey
While the rest of the blogging world might have been drooling over Lana Del Rey months ago, I'm only just now falling in love. What can I say? There's no excuse. October 16th was the release date for Del Rey's debut double A-Side single, "Video Games" and "Blue Jeans," so I fell in love with her at a good time. While I'm not above listening to songs via YouTube my BlackBerry doesn't do

The Ting Tings 'Hang It Up' with New Single and Video
After what seemed like an eternity, English pop rock duo The Ting Tings are BACK with a hot new single and an equally hot new music video. It's been over a year since Jules De Martino (drums, lead guitar, bass guitar, vocals, piano) and Katie White (vocals, guitar, bass drums, bass guitar, and cow bells) dropped the first single off their highly anticipated sophomore album, the Calvin
Hot Remix Alert: Patrick Wolf - Together (Garcon Garcon Remix)
Talented English singer/songwriter Patrick Wolf will release his brand new EP, Brumalia, on November 28th. The EP features a beautiful song called "Together," a standout on Patrick's recent string of live shows. According to Wolf himself,
"'Together’ has been the highlight of the live shows over the last year, the audience reaction to this song has been totally inspiring,

U2 Celebrate 20 Years of 'Achtung Baby'
Wow. Can you believe that it's been nearly 20 years since U2 released their pivotal seventh studio album, Achtung Baby? The album spawned a whole slough of hit singles including "The Fly," "Mysterious Ways," "One," "Even Better Than The Real Thing," and
"Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses," with every single one of them going top ten on the Billboard Hot 100. The album became the band's
The Puppini Sisters Go Glam for 'Hollywood': New Album Due November 7th
Back in May I reported that retro pop/jazz trio The Puppini Sisters were NEARLY done with their third album (fourth, if you count 2010's Holiday album Christmas with the Puppini Sisters). Well...five months later we have a release date, and not one for France...one for the USA! The theme of the new album? Why old Hollywood, of course! How glamorous and absolutely perfect for the Puppinis!

Ones To Watch In 2012: Sunless '97
I thought I'd share with you some trippy new music from a brand new English electronica group called Sunless '97. I don't have too much info on the band other than their names - Alice, Ed, Matthew and Kwes. Their debut EP, Making Waves, is due for release on November 21st via Abeano Music. The EP will also be released on limited edition 12" vinyl. Check out more cool music from the band
Hot Video Alert: Olly Murs - Dance With Me Tonight
Oh Olly Murs. You're just too cute for words! In the recently released video for "Dance With Me Tonight," (directed by Marcus Lundin) cute-as-a-button Olly Murs gets hauled into the police station, mug shots taken, all before flashing back to the events that landed him in the slammer. Trouble maker Murs drives all over town, pickin' up his friends (even a couple of randoms) in his

Britney Spears Releases Lyric Video for Fourth Single, 'Criminal'
Hey hey! Britney Spears has released a lyric video for her fourth single, "Criminal," and while I'd rather watch the music video (obviously) I'll take what I can get. The only REAL ballad on Femme Fatale, "Criminal" was written by Tiffany Amber (Allison Iraheta, Britney Spears) and written/produced by Max Martin (Robyn, Kelly Clarkson) and Shellback (P!nk, Adam Lambert). "Criminal"
Paloma Faith In Search of a Producer; Writing for Sophomore Album 'Pretty Much There'
English singer/songwriter Paloma Faith's last release seems like FOREVER ago! It has in fact almost been a year since she released the sixth and final single, "Smoke & Mirrors," off her top ten debut album Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful? Since then, I've been eagerly anticipating word on Faith's sophomore album...word that finally came last
